Welcome

The Hayloft at Flamborough Rigg which sleeps 4, offers spacious, luxurious accommodation and has again been rated 5 star with a Gold Award by Visit England for 2024. Just north of Pickering on the edge of Cropton Forest within the North York Moors National Park, it offers wonderful views over the forest and towards Newtondale. It is across the courtyard from Flamborough Rigg Cottage, which dates back to the early 1800’s.

You'll find a local food hamper, a well equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms with very comfortable beds, a large lounge with Smart TV, DVD, a log burner and Wi-Fi. There is also a long list of recommended pubs and restaurants for when you don’t want to cook. The Hayloft is ideally placed for walking dogs (who are most welcome) or mountain biking through the forest, exploring the moors or strolling along the beach on Britain’s most beautiful coastline.

The Hayloft is a perfect base to explore all that North Yorkshire has to offer. We are always here to welcome our guests and then you will only see us if we can give any practical help or provide any local knowledge. We won't intrude!

Finding Us

On arrival in Pickering follow the A170 to the traffic lights and follow the signs to the Steam Railway, Newton upon Rawcliffe and Stape.

Follow the road through Newton, past the White Swan pub and through Stape which is about a mile and a half further on. Turn left into Middle Head Road which is approximately 500 yards past the red telephone box.

A few hundred yards along Middle Head Road the road forks where you should keep left. Flamborough Rigg Cottage and The Hayloft is the last property on the left roughly ½ mile down the road and is clearly signed.
